Idaho Sen. Jim Risch is the 13th richest of 535 members of Congress, with his wealth estimated at
$20.1 million, according to a report by
The Hill
, a Capitol Hill news outlet. Risch held the same fortunate spot last year,
based on financial disclosure reports filed with the House and Senate. Risch made his early money as a Boise lawyer and then invested in
ranches and other real estate. The Hill says Risch’s farm and ranch land
accounts for $16 million of his assets. Risch, who began his first
six-year term in 2009, bought a Washington, D.C., condo worth at least
$250,000. His assets rose about $800,000 in the past year, as did those
of many others on the Top 50 list/
