Don’t trust tax ploy

Gov. Chris Gregoire and her buddies, Sens. Lisa Brown and Chris Marr, will use any ploy to encourage business owners to come to Washington. At the same time trying to get us to vote on a state income tax.

It sounds great. Pass an initiative that will put a state income tax on those persons making $200,000 or more but not the guy earning less that that. Just think: Those rich people won’t miss it and since the majority of us don’t make anywhere near $200,000 the majority will probably vote for the income tax initiative.

What short memories people have. That same bunch in Olympia recently decided on their own to do away with restrictions we had voted in on raising taxes. How long do you think that money-hungry group will take to burden the rest of us with the income tax?

Olympia seems to rely on the premise that the people will pay whatever they demand, rather than cutting the costs of doing the state’s business. I can’t increase my income to help satisfy their demands.
