Beck stands up for honor

The author of “Beck serves mammon” (Letters, Sept. 2) made a few erroneous statements concerning Glenn Beck.

First, Glenn does not “entertain angry, scared people.” What he does exceptionally well is educate his viewers via videos, audios, transcripts and his famous blackboards of the persons of which he is speaking.

Secondly, Mr. Beck, “panders to fear.” Wrong!

Fear comes from lack of knowledge of what or why a calamity could be coming and the emotion of fear does not exist.

Thirdly, “Beck rewrites history.” Absurd. He has the brightest historian professors on his Friday’s shows. Result? Book sales soar while Glenn is telling us to “question with boldness” in all areas of religion, politics and history. Doesn’t sound “extreme” to me.

He promotes “honor within ourselves and honor in the nation will be restored.” Maybe if we followed his challenge, we will no longer have wars or “use (God’s) name to gain wealth and dominate others.”

If, “Americans worship money more than God,” then I contend Mr. Glenn Beck is right on: Restore honor!
