Another Tuesday morning with WSU
COUGARS
Do you have a day of the week at work that is always longer and more demanding than the rest? A day you start dreading at 3 the day before? A day that seems to drag on and on? A day that, when it’s over, it seems like a steel door is slamming shut behind you and you’re free? If you answered yes to those questions, I feel your pain. Read on.

• Washington State: Not much of anything that I can recommend here except my notes from last night on the blog and our first look at USC. There will be a lot more later today. That’s just how this day from h-e-double-hockey-sticks works.

• Around the Pac-10: There’s a lot of discussion material available here, from ESPN.com’s Ted Miller, who works like a fiend on Mondays, to San Jose’s Jon Wilner. … We’ll start with Miller, who has a quick preview of Saturday’s games, a Heisman update (this list is getting shorter), the conference’s players of the week and some thoughts on what last week meant to a couple schools. … Bob Clark of the Register-Guard has his weekly thoughts on the conference. … And Wilner adds his four cents . … Washington: When your coach doesn’t think you played with a “competitive nature,” practices could be tough this week. Especially in a bye week. … Oregon State: The Beavers are feeling blue this week about their practice field . And the laundry guys have to be ticked. … Oregon: The Ducks’ depth allows them to rest players and limits injuries. … It’s supposed to be hot in Tempe, so Oregon is turning up the heat. … Another basketball player may lost for the season, this one to academics. … Cal: and Stanford: A dead day. … USC: The Trojans are beginning to worry about their ranking and, win or lose, this week’s game won’t help. … Coach Lane Kiffin has an affinity for two-point conversions. … UCLA: The pistol offense is really an option attack. But Kevin Prince didn’t appreciate that until watching Nevada demolish Cal’s defense last week. … Arizona State: The Sun Devils understand the abilities of this week’s foe. … Arizona: After a big win over Iowa, the Wildcats try to ignore all the praise.

• That’s all for this morning. We’ll be back after Paul Wulff’s press conference today and after practice. Until then …
