Vandals trail 14-13 at half

Josh Wright

Idaho dominanated much of the first half, but a disastrous last few minutes of the second quarter led to a 14-13 deficit at halftime at Colorado State. The Vandals led 13-0 after a Trey Farquhar field goal with 4:32 left in the half. The Rams, 0-3, were helped by an Isaac Butts’ pass interference call — his second of the game — and drove down for a touchdown from Raymond Carter with :39 seconds left. Two plays later, Nate Enderle fumbled and CSU responded with another Carter touchdown to take the lead.

The Vandals have had the ball 7 more minutes than the Rams and outgained CSU 261-142. Still, they trail again on the road because of costly mistakes and an inefficient offense. They’ve settled for two field goals and couldn’t convert a 4th-and-1 on their first possession.
