Lawmakers plan to forge ahead on lifting wolf protections

conservation groups have agreed
to settle ongoing litigation over wolf management in the Northern Rockies to keep Congress from acting on legislation to change the Endangered Species Act, Sen. Tester, D-Mont., said he’ll press ahead on legislation if congressional action is a faster route to resolution, and Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, said he remains committed to a bill that would exempt wolves from ESA protection, according to
