Sinister motive for gun search

Shawn Vestal obviously has never heard of death by a thousand cuts (“WSP request a far cry from Colonial tyranny,” March 25). This innocuous letter from the Washington State Patrol requesting purchase information on all AR-15s is nothing more than an attempt to build a file on who owns the guns and where do they live.

I don’t believe this trumped-up story about a lost or stolen AR-15 any more than I believe Obamacare is good for our country. If this weapon was stolen, then making the serial number known to the dealers is all that’s necessary to search for the weapon. This was nothing more than another attempt to undermine our Second Amendment rights.
