House and Senate appropriators worked late into the night following a Tuesday afternoon meeting between Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday. Schumer said he was slightly more hopeful than the day before that a deal could be reached to prevent a shutdown after Friday.
