Response to Mr. Swanstrom

Jock Swanstrom’s Letter to the Editor on April 8, 2011, made my day. Just reading that letter was worth the 75 cents I paid for the paper. Mr. Swanstrom, if you ever run for office I will campaign for you.

However Mr. Swanstrom you forgot the main reason that the governor as well as the Washington state Legislature feels the necessity to charge an additional $100 plate tax for hybrid cars. They are expensive so naturally according to the mentality of the governor and our state Legislature only the rich can afford them. Thus if you can buy the car, you are rich and can afford to pay the additional $100. A person who works hard and sacrifices to get nice things is penalized. After all how are we going to get the funds to pay for the folks who choose not to work and depend on everyone else to support them?
