What became of Job One?
With all the hubbub about the budget, I wonder which Cathy McMorris Rodgers will show up to community town hall meetings, if she shows up.
Her official website says, “Cathy will be better positioned to protect and strengthen Medicare and Medicaid …” and, “I believe access to quality long-term care is a critical part of stabilizing overall health care for our aging populations. Congress needs to enact policies that strengthen these types of programs.”
How does she justify voting with the Ryan budget, which turns Medicare over to insurance company thieves and cuts Medicaid by forcing block grant programs on states?
I note that there are no town hall meetings scheduled for this congressional break. Could she be anticipating the backlash other members of the House have faced from angry constituents?
Republicans promised that jobs would be the first priority when they took power. Let’s see, voting against a health care program that actually saves money, voting against funding Planned Parenthood (which actually prevents more abortions than it provides), more tax breaks for the wealthy, gutting Medicare and Medicaid, but no job creation bills. Why isn’t she representing all of her constituents instead of her wealthy contributors?
