Post Falls Family Fights Chicken Rules

An Idaho family is fighting a city ordinance that regulates backyard chickens. The City of Post Falls slapped the Partington family with a warning for owning chickens.  City leaders ordered the family to get rid of their chickens last week. Brian Partington told KREM 2 News that he thought it was legal to raise chickens in his backyard. He currently owns 13 hens. Post Falls leaders said Partington is in violation of a 1998 city ordinance. Only homeowners with more than one acre of land can own chickens.
