Challenge the Meanies

For those that have wished for a third party in our dysfunctional political system, reality has arrived. In fact, we now have not one but two new parties to choose from – the Meanies and the Weenies.

There are precious few Republicans or Democrats left in the current Congress – certainly not enough to prevent the Meanies taking the U.S. economy hostage for their own misguided objectives. Meanwhile, the Weenies negotiate with themselves, then take the Meanies’ opening position and double down on it, offering everything they want plus some – while giving up virtually all of their own requirements.

Balanced debt reduction plan, my foot.

We now have our own incumbent Meanie. I sure hope someone – Republican or Democrat – will offer a meaningful challenge to her in 2012.
