Let’s keep Mayor Verner

Mary Verner has shown true grit and leadership in her service as a mayor of Spokane. She’s the hardest-working person in the city, always showing up and on point, concerned but optimistic, seeking the best for citizens and the community.

Mary knows that it takes a three-legged stool to support a good city: a thriving economy, a healthy environment and solid social systems. Her practical streak as a problem-solver is an excellent trait for a position that requires not just dealing with, but actually resolving such matters as potholes, snowstorms and sewage treatment.

Mary also has vision. Spokane is changing, along with the rest of the world. To compete in the 21st century as a small but growing Western municipality, our city must invest in infrastructure and adopt sustainable practices, all in the midst of shrinking budgets and serious belt-tightening.

Mary not only brings an eye to the future, but a lot of ideas about how to make Spokane a better place for coming generations. Mary Verner is a great mayor. Let’s keep her.
