Saturday morning links from WSU
COUGARS
With the high today expected to be somewhere in the 90s, it’s a good thing Washington State is holding a morning practice. Especially for the offensive linemen, who have a tendency to sweat a bit more than most of their teammates. The other unintended consequence? The beat writer is up early, pouring himself a cup of coffee and poring over stories. The results can be found on the link, so read on.

• Washington State: There are about a week’s worth of Cougar stories to pass along this morning, and seeing that I covered last night’s practice here , we’ll get right to it. … We had our story in the S-R today concerning the state of the position battles for the Cougars. The defense is still looking for the starter at one cornerback spot, the offense for a backup quarterback. Other than that, it’s all pretty well decided, even the special teams questions, though their were four long snappers in uniform yesterday, as a walk-on joined the squad and Alex Reitnouer was on the field, albeit not in pads. … There were a few other new faces on the field yesterday, but Rahmel Dockery and Alex Mitchell were still in street clothes. … Freelancer Howie Stalwick had this feature on another of the players who survived the walk-on tryouts last week. … Did the Times’ Bud Withers put the kiss of injury on Travis Long with this feature ? Just kidding. … We found this story from the Bay Area on Sekope Kaufusi.
