Free Lolita

This March 9, 1995, file photo, shows trainer Marcia Hinton with Lolita during a performance at the Miami Seaquarium, in Miami. Celebrities, documentary artists, even the former Washington state governor over the years have sought to free Lolita, who was captured from Puget Sound waters in 1970 and has been performing stunts at the Seaquarium for four decades. Activists are now suing the federal government in a U.S. District Court in Seattle, saying the government erred by not including captive animals when they listed the whales as endangered in 2005. Question: Should captured whales in this country’s aquariums be listed as endangered and set free?
