Thanks to Sen. Baxter

Thank you, former Sen. Jeff Baxter, on behalf of the citizens of Washington state. You recognized that your unflinching commitment to no new taxes was but a partial solution to the dire financial status of our state.

Among your accomplishments, you personally spearheaded and were instrumental in eliminating the pervasive fraud and massive misuse of the welfare Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. This egregious waste was unaddressed and unresolved under the reigns of Bob McCaslin, Larry Crouse and Lynn Schindler.

No more use of EBT cards at tattoo parlors, casinos or liquor stores. No more unaccountable and unlimited issuance of a welfare recipient’s lost EBT cards that just happened to be repeatedly sold for cash on the street. Your dedication and determination to tackle this one problem alone will save Washington taxpayers millions of dollars. This savings would help provide for those most vulnerable, as well as apply to our massive budget shortfall.

We need courageous and industrious men like you in the Legislature. I hope you will consider running for office once more.
