WSU shorthanded vs. EWU
COUGARS
Trying to keep track of about three games on my computer while also attempting to get ready for a Washington State basketball game is not the easiest juggling act. But it’s fun. It’s a Saturday with college football and basketball going on. Pretty fun time of year. Read on.

• I will say, Beasley Coliseum is the one place this time of year there isn’t Christmas music being piped through the sound system. Instead there is a song that begins with a guy burping. Not your typical Christmas music, that’s for sure. … So what happens today? First off, it looks as if Wasington State is going to be really short-handed. Mike Ladd is still out with the left thumb injury. Add to that Faisal Aden is dealing with a concussion and he won’t today. Plus I just saw D.J. Shelton in sweats, meaning he’s not going today either. Turns out he’s been suspended but WSU isn’t saying why. That’s three of WSU’s top eight or nine guys. … What does that do to WSU? Well it takes away the Cougars top outside scoring option in Aden, but does mean freshman DaVonté Lacy will get more time. I also expect Patrick Simon and Will DiIorio to play more. A tough task today just got tougher. … Defensively, Eastern likes to deny the ball from your best outside scorer, which, if everyone were healthy, would be Aden. But with his injury, I guess that will put the target on either Reggie Moore or Lacy’s back. Or the Eagles could try to help more on Brock Motum inside. … On the other end, I’m really interested in seeing how WSU will try to guard Collin Chiverton. An excellent 3-point threat, Chiverton should be the focal point of WSU’s defense, whether they are in man or zone.
