The Centers for Disease Control just released the 10 leading causes of death in the United States in 2008 and 2009.

Here they are:

1) Diseases of the heart.

2) Malignant neoplasms (the medical name for cancer).

3) Chronic lower respiratory diseases

4) Cerebro-vascular diseases

5) Accidents

6) Alzheimer’s disease

7) Diabetes mellitus

8) Influenza and pnuemonia

9) Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome and nephrosis (diseases of the kidney and urinary system)

10) Suicide
