Why blame Obama?

The Nov. 17 cartoon showing Uncle Sam dragging President Barack Obama’s burden reminded me of the princess and the pea. What exactly has he done to merit this?

Was it the dreaded Troubled Asset Relief Program that was a Hail Mary pass from the President George Bush administration that fell at Obama’s feet? Economists believed this was needed to save our financial industry. Obama successfully used some of this money to save our auto industry.

The complex mess of troubled assets concocted by “job creators” on Wall Street made it virtually impossible to unpack them, and some contained only electrons! Was it the stimulus plan that was loaded with tax breaks to encourage hiring? Was it the monstrous health care legislation that requires people to have some minimal amount of health insurance? Is it the two unfunded wars and Medicare drug plan that he inherited from a stumbling, bumbling administration?

Or is this another version of the “white man’s burden” myth?
