Tucker finally exposed

Doug Clark’s “Voters just aren’t Tuckered out yet” (Dec. 6) brings up some interesting and questionable points.

I agree the voters were a bit slow on the uptake, but like Watergate it was part of County Prosecutor Steve Tucker’s plan to keep the trash hidden from the uninformed electorate. The Yakima jury provided the discovery of cover-up and awakened the conscience of our community.

Now we know that Tucker should have been pursuing charges and convictions in the Zehm case. Prosecution of felonies in the city is the exclusive responsibility of the county prosecutor. Refusing to call in an outside prosecutor gave cover to Mayor Mary Verner, police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick, City Attorney Howard Delaney and Assistant City Attorney Rocky Treppiedi.

Any reasonable person would suspect a crime after it was determined that Otto Zehm’s death was a homicide. Tucker prevented, hindered and delayed prosecution. Our public humiliation continues because an innocent man was put to death by the people who were supposed to protect him.

Tucker may not be a werewolf, but his disregard for the public safety, the public trust and human decency is wicked.
