SEA unfairly smeared

In the Dec. 25 letters, Jim McDevitt wrote that the Spokane Education Association was currently under investigation by the Public Disclosure Commission for campaign violations. This is not true. SEA has never been informed by the PDC that we were under investigation. I know Spokane Public Schools has been contacted, but not SEA. You may call the PDC to verify.

I was under the assumption that you don’t print letters like this until you check out the facts. This makes me mad that McDevitt can have his “mistruths” printed, smearing 3,000 SEA members. I would like this information to be corrected, please.

Thank you.
