Gun, nap not crimes

I am disappointed county-elected officials did not come to the defense of their citizen so harshly handled by the Nevada police. What was Roy Murry’s crime, sleeping on the side of the road? When did it become a crime in America for a citizen to pull over to the side of the road and rest when they feel it is necessary?

Does not such a law place every person on the road in harm’s way? Clearly in this case Roy’s crime was carrying a gun. American citizens have a constitutional right to carry a gun. Police should not feel they have the authority to arrest a citizen disturbing no one and endangering no one; for heaven sakes, he was sleeping.

The danger all of us should see in this situation is the harsh reaction of the Nevada police and the reaction of Spokane County public elected officials acting in tandem with the local newspaper to publicly jump to the defense of the abusive Nevada police rather than their community leader. Roy Murry is a volunteer community leader working diligently to return greatness to America where citizens can enjoy their inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
