Barbieri on nullification: ‘Line in the sand’

There’s a full house this morning for the House State Affairs Committee public hearing on HB 117, the latest version of the health-care reform nullification bill. “Our primary focus with this bill is to stop all of our state agencies from spending time, money and energy in furtherance … with these laws,” Rep. Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens, the bill’s lead sponsor, told the committee. “When has the federal government ever, in its history, restrained itself?” he asked. “It’s time for Idaho to take a stand. This is merely a line in the sand, but that line must be drawn.”
