WSU trails 45-28 at the half
COUGARS
So what do you write about a half in which Washington State shoots 50 percent from the floor, leads in rebounding and still trails by 17? That the WSU defense has not been porous, it hasn’t been poor, it’s just been awful. The zone assignments were ignored in the first four minutes and Stanford has carved up the man since. The Cardinal, the Pac-10’s second worst shooting group at 42 percent, have hit 18 of 29 shots, including 8 of 9 from beyond the arc. The lone miss out there was by Anthony Brown, who hit his other two attempts. Jeremy Green hit his three and has 11 points. … Thompson, who had Green down the stretch on defense, has nine poits but has taken just six shots while guarded by Jarrett Mann. DeAngelo Casto has gotten four shots and made them all. He did, however, miss both his free throws as WSU 3 of 10. That’s better than the Cougars’ 3-point percentage which is 16.7 or 1 for 6. … We’ll be back 90 minutes or so after the end of the game. Until then …
