Deal crafted in backroom

Let me see if I’ve got this right. Former Sen. McCaslin of the 4th District made a deal with current legislators Crouse and Shea and former legislator Padden, that McCaslin would resign if Padden’s name was on the short list to go to the county commission for selection.

Then the precinct committee officers sent a list without Padden’s name on it to the county commission. Now McCaslin is upset because his deal fell through. Is that what I read in the paper?

Are these the same folks from the “Grand Old Party” that want us to believe they are all “aboveboard” and they don’t make “backroom deals”?
