Up and running

Thank you for the feature on Running Start (Feb. 8). Something overlooked in the coverage is that Spokane Public Schools offers some Running Start courses in its high schools.

At Lewis and Clark we offer all seniors Running Start funded “community service” internships that fulfill district social studies requirements, the state-mandated culminating project, and impart five quarter hours of Eastern Washington University College of Social and Behavioral Sciences credit.

This course, Practicum in Community Involvement, embodies the best of both high school and college.
