WSU does enough to cruise past Oregon
COUGARS
It’s getting late early tonight, so we’ll give you a quick post and head on out of Beasley. You can read more concerning Washington State’s 77-63 defeat of Oregon – snapping a three-game losing streak to the Ducks. Read on.

• It wasn’t pretty – and that comes directly from coach Ken Bone – but the Cougars did enough to build a big lead and coast over the out-manned Ducks. The lead got as big as 21 (58-37) midway through the second half and that was that. … The Cougars turned the ball over 18 times, many of which we were just careless, drop-the-ball-out-of-bounds kind of plays and that concerned Bone as well. But they got a win. … A couple of reasons why: Reggie Moore shot them through their first-half woes; they hit 18 of 21 free throws; they shared the ball, with 16 assists on their 24 baskets; and they dominated the much-shorter Ducks on the glass, outrebounding UO by 12, numbers that haven’t been seen since the Southern game. … Oh, and Oregon was 24 of 71 from the floor, 10 of 32 from beyond the arc. The Ducks aren’t big and they don’t shoot well, which is a lethal combination. … You can find the early version of my story here .

• That’s all for tonight. We’ll be back in the morning like always. Until then …
