Spokane Riverkeeper at the City Forum
Next Wednesday, January 19th, the Spokane City Forum presents “Preserving Spokane’s Natural Treasure” with Bart Mihailovich,
the Spokane Riverkeeper
, and Dick Denenny, former Spokane Valley City Councilman.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Riverkeeper program and it’s a fascinating pairing since former Councilman Denenny represented the interests of municipal dischargers in the regulatory dialogue while serving on council and aimed at bringing the river into compliance for pollutants that cause low dissolved oxygen.
According to the
Center For Justice,
“Bart will speak about his life experience and approach to river protection, the origins and objectives of the international Waterkeeper Alliance of which the Spokane Riverkeeper project is a part, and he will also address what he sees as the major environmental threats to the river, and the opportunities for working together to address those threats and challenges.”

The cost to attend is $10, which also includes lunch. The forum runs from 11:45 to 1 p.m. and takes place at the First Presbyterian Church located at 318 South Cedar Street in west Spokane.
