Police plaudits overdone

This is in response to a recent letter from Carol Snyder (Dec. 26). It seems that she is tooting her and others’ whistles for our law enforcement personnel. What she fails to mention is that it is their job; that is what they chose to do.

And they get paid for it as well, a good starting salary, good benefits, pensions, training and a few other “law enforcement” perks. I have also found that police do not keep myself, my family or my neighborhood safe. Laws do.

I believe that most people do not think a law enforcement career is easy. But then again I have failed to see any listings in the help wanted section of The Spokesman-Review for law enforcement personnel.
