Palin’s words worse

I must have misunderstood this morning’s (Jan. 11) editorial “Speculation into motives only widens our divisions,” because I thought that your editorial board equated Barack Obama’s call for the Latino community to vote with Sarah Palin’s retort “Don’t retreat, reload.”

And, did you really say that Mr. Obama encouraging people to “punish their enemies” in the voting booth was the same as Ms. Palin’s posting of a map with cross-hairs targets over those whom she opposes?

There is a difference in this rhetoric, a difference in these people, and it is a difference that needs to be recognized and advertised as we move toward the 2012 election.
