WSU’s Thompson one for the ages
COUGARS • UPDATED: 8 P.M.
One more post for the night. We have our story for tomorrow’s paper concerning Klay Thompson’s season, future – both near and far term – and his competition for the Pac-10 Player of the Year award. Read on.

• Watching Thompson at Cal, when he carried the Cougars offensively, then at Stanford, where he helped everyone play better in a comeback victory, then again last night, with a well-rounded performance in an easy victory, it just hit me. This guy is damn good. Better than he’s given credit for. A hidden gem in the far-flung reaches of the Northwest. Time to give him his due and look at a few things. So we did. The story also serves as an advance for tomorrow’s showdown with Arizona, which could be for second place in the conference if Stanford upsets UCLA. … UPDATE: One thing I forgot to pass along earlier. Faisal Aden practiced today and looked OK to go tomorrow. He’s been experiencing knee soreness since the Gonzaga game and it acts up from time to time. After practice was over today he spent a long time shooting jumpers with assistant Curtis Allen, so if it was too sore I don’t think that would have been an option. … Bud Withers has an advance of tomorrow’s game as well.

• That’s all for now. We’ll be back in the morning. Promise. Until then …
