Attack on GOP feeble

Ed Simpson (Letters, Jan. 20) spells hypocrisy Republican. Give me a break. President Obama promised CNN would cover the health care overhaul, and in fact would be present at all major legislations. Never saw that. Harry Reid and his cohort Nancy Pelosi crafted the health care bill behind closed doors with no Republican input. In fact, to quote Pelosi, “we need to get this passed and then there will be time to read it.” The Democrats simply came forth with a “we won” type of mentality.

Mr. Simpson has a problem with Cathy McMorris Rodgers standing with John Boehner. How about all the times that Reid and Pelosi were photographed with Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, all grinning like Cheshire cats? Now there’s a trio to draw to.

Mr. Simpson ends by asking where all the jobs are? Granted they have consistently been leaving for years. But with Obama appointing Jeff Immelt to head up his economic advisory board, that’s not going to help one bit. General Electric has outsourced more jobs than they have created domestically. The knife has been slipped into the backs of the middle class for years, not in the last few months.
