Cast out democracy

I hate to disagree with Doug Floyd’s final column (June 26), but I see no reason to foster, sustain or keep democracy intact.

Democracy means “the people to rule” or majority rule. Our nation was founded as a constitutional republic based on biblical law, the Ten Commandments and unalienable rights given from God, including life, liberty and property.

Democracy severs any ties to God or his moral laws and says rights come from majority rule or the state. It isn’t any wonder that communists, including Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Fabian socialists and secular humanists like John Dewey agree and agreed with Karl Marx that the first step in the revolution to abolish private property and establish socialism is to “win the battle of democracy.”

When citizens declare themselves autonomous and the state assumes the role of God, you end up with what Lord Acton called the “tyranny of the majority.” The Bible says where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. But where the spirit of democracy is you find abortion, licentiousness, theft and excessive taxation, spending and debt.

We need to dismantle democracy before it destroys our country and return to the constitutional republic our founders gave us.
