Hard pill to swallow
I am an 83-year-old Medicare patient with Plan D. I have been on two blood pressure drugs for the past several years. I have been able to reduce the dosage to half a tablet.
These tablets cost me $1.50 each or $135 for 90 tablets and the “plan” even more. When getting two refills, because you are limited to a 90-day supply, I was given 45 tablets, but guess what the price was – still $135.
After not being able to receive satisfaction with the pharmacy or store manager, I called Medicare and, lo and behold, I received the same answer: They are not interested in what the pharmacy charges, only that I am limited to a 90-day supply.
They wonder why our system isn’t working! It’s just taxpayers’ money after all.
