Contests hard to swallow

It’s the Fourth of July. What do we see on TV? We see people eating hot dogs. Not just at a picnic or barbecue; no problem there. They are gorging at eating contests. They are eating dozens and dozens of hot dogs, trying to see who can eat the most in a certain amount of time.

Meanwhile, we have people who are going hungry here in our own country. Somehow, that just isn’t right. Isn’t there a way where we can have a hot dog eating contest that challenges us to have the most people eating, rather than a few who become sick because they behaved like gluttons to win a prize?

That would be more like the America we would love to live in.
