Rate hike predictable

It was no surprise to me that last Sunday’s front page news featured an article on yet another rate increase request by Avista. I was just thinking the other day about how mild this spring and summer have been so far, and it caused me grave concern that because people have been needing to run their air conditioning less, Avista’s revenues must surely be taking a hit.

What a dilemma. How will they be able to pay those paltry executive salaries and bonuses? The economy is flat. People are unemployed. A rate hike! That’s the ticket.
