Brower shows she cares

A few years ago, a local weekly newspaper dismissed the local school board election coverage as something slightly above insignificant. I cannot disagree more, as parents, students and citizens have much at stake these days.

For that reason, I’m backing Deana Brower for Spokane Public Schools board member.

Deana, an advocate for our community, is chairman of the SPS Citizens Advisory Committee on Human Growth, Development and Personal Safety, a member of the board of directors for the YWCA, and a member of the Chase Youth Commission. Deana shows a real commitment to help shape the future for our students.

Both of her children are current students in Spokane Public Schools, and she knows the importance of preparing our next generation for the challenges ahead. With her years of experience as a classroom teacher and volunteer in our classrooms, Deana knows what’s going on in our schools “from the ground up.”

Deana will work to make sure our students have all the tools needed so they can meet the challenges that face them.

For those reasons, I’m backing Deana Brower for Spokane Public Schools board. No political rhetoric, just real experience and leadership.
