Coexist on the roads

In response to the letter by Mrs. Bonnie Walker regarding her version of “responsible bicycling,” I simply cannot believe what I have read. Cyclists have the same rights, the same roads and the same rules. Whether a road has a shoulder or not is irrelevant. A cyclist should, in all honesty, ride in the lane to ensure cars not only go around them, but slow to actually acknowledge their presence.

Riding a bike on a country road is what makes our region great. Cyclists, as well as drivers, simply need to coexist, slow down and relax.
