Where is the big shot?

As the posturing and positioning in Foggy Bottom continues unabated, where, oh where, is Cathy McMorris Rodgers in this whole debt debacle? She’s one of the big shots in D.C., because we frequently see her frowning and grimacing behind Speaker Boehner and Slasher Cantor. You’d think the S-R would have her on speed dial to get the latest snark. But no.

And I wonder, is the S-R cropping photos so she’s not seen anymore? Is she trying to position herself away from the GOP leadership?

So where is McMorris Rodgers? What exactly is she doing in D.C. during this sorry excuse at legislating? What is she doing that she wants to keep so secret? Pushing a deal to gut Social Security so millionaires get to keep their jets and third homes in Aspen and Sun Valley? Making sure ExxonMobil never pays any taxes ever again, forever and ever? Handing out tax credits for moving jobs overseas?

Why is she hiding? And why won’t the S-R pursue her? I mean, you’d think a newspaper would want to at least get a few comments from a local congresswoman now so prominent in the GOP ranks.

Where’s Cathy?
