Leave incentives alone

Let me get this straight, the “Gang of Six” has outlined a plan to “reform tax expenditures for health, charitable giving, homeownership and retirement.” All of these so-called tax expenditures were put into the tax code solely to encourage people to take care of their own health care needs, give to charities that help others in need, buy a home and save for retirement.

Why would the politicians want to take away the incentives to do these things? Is it so that the government can do more instead of us ill-informed masses taking care of ourselves? Yeah, that’s the ticket! Way to go representatives.
