Fullmer no rubber stamp

As a retired counselor/teacher from Spokane Public Schools, I am especially interested in school board elections and am pleased to support Sally Fullmer for the school board. She is well-informed about our schools.

Sally, a Spokane native, and her two oldest children graduated from the district; her youngest child still attends public school in Spokane. Moreover, she has years of teaching experience and has volunteered locally in the classroom at all levels, as well as helped with music activities and sports.

In addition to being a knowledgeable representative of students, parents and teachers, Sally will be a voice for the rest of our community. We need school board members who will be independent voices and will carefully evaluate recommendations of the district administration, not just rubber-stamp them.

Given her experience as the current chair of the Comstock Neighborhood Council and having observed her in action, I know Sally is a team player who will also seek input from many sources and will speak up and promote changes if she has concerns about district policies.
