County P&Z’s Real Mission Statement

On Wednesday, Huckleberries published a photo and the wording of a statement posted on door of Kootenai County Community Development (old P&Z department), complete with bureaucratese and a line telling seekers of building permits to go elsewhere. It was a spoof. Now, Huckleberries has, via a Berry Picker, the true mission statement of Community Development (as adopted 4 years ago): “It is the mission of the Kootenai County Building and Planning Department to provide the public with friendly, efficient, professional customer service and guidance in a manner that will promote safety through building and land use applications while protecting the open space and natural beauty of Kootenai County for the present and future generations.”
