Homegrown and ready to lead

Spokane will choose a new City Council president this year, and the election will be like casting a vote for the past or the future.

The future is Ben Stuckart. Born and schooled in Spokane, Ben spent 12 years earning increasingly responsible business management positions with companies in California, Wisconsin and then back home in Spokane. In 2007, he chose to leave his corporate job to become the first executive director of Communities in Schools of Spokane County.

As a founding board member and local banker, I have watched Ben use his impressive management and interpersonal skills to build an effective, fiscally sound nonprofit organization during a time when nonprofits and municipalities alike have had serious financial problems.

Ben works tirelessly to achieve his goals. He is organized, strategic and very results-oriented. He is not afraid to challenge bureaucracies to improve the lives of those he serves. He will bring this same energy and fiscal responsibility to our city’s government. Ben is the right person to lead Spokane into the future.
