American greatness forgotten

Leonard Pitts hit the nail on the head Wednesday when he called a majority of Americans history “ignoramuses.” I believe these ignoramuses have been bred by our liberal-slanted education system, starting with all revisionist cabals which have, over the past 40 years or so, turned American history (the prime example) into an American social justice program.

The revisionists can’t get away with painting George Washington as an evil man. So, therefore, just say little or nothing about him and several generations will grow up knowing nothing of this great American, and by extension, nothing about the exceptionalism of America, starting with its Founding Fathers.

If we had only one year out of 12 to teach an American history course, use that year teaching the greatness of America and let today’s media follow up with how hateful we are. We’re not all racists, bigots, Native American oppressors or descendants of slave owners. We’re the greatest civilization to ever walk the Earth, scabs and all. Political correctness continues to denigrate our historical identity.
