GOP rallies around rich

Does anyone remember what the big budget issues were in the year 1999? There was an active debate about whether it was good policy to completely pay off the national debt. What in the world has happened since to bring the country to the edge of defaulting on our massive debt? The answer is eight years of George W. Bush, two massive tax cuts for the rich, two wars in Islamic countries and deregulation of the financial markets.

Cathy McMorris Rodgers and the Republican House have clearly indicated their path to solving the current problems. Cut Medicare, Medicaid, food safety programs, public broadcasting funding, the Consumer Protection Agency, etc.

They say certain other programs need to be defended and enhanced. These include the billion-dollar tax breaks for oil companies, agricultural subsidies, Defense Department budgets, etc. But the most important item that must be defended at all costs is the tax cuts for the wealthy. Just like monkeys with their fists in the candy jar, they just can’t let that one go. It defines their very existence.

Cathy needs to have a town hall meeting to get feedback from someone other than the tea party. Why are you hiding, Cathy?
