Try envisioning reality

I have been seeing an effort in the paper, via letters to the editor, to again promote Kai Huschke’s Envision Spokane. It is clear these people truly do not know, or understand, economics or our republic. I have thoroughly read the Envision Spokane website and have found nothing of value that it would contribute to this community.

The lack of space prevents me from going into detail, so I will be blunt. You don’t have a right to work or a right to health care; no one does. If you don’t get what you want from your employer, quit. Find one who does give you what you want. Or start your own business and run it the way you want. Further taxing, regulating of businesses in Spokane will only drive them to Idaho. If you don’t like the way a business operates, don’t buy their product. As for corporations, there are many ways to deal with them.

If Envision Spokane were to be voted in, it would have no authority to do what it promotes; that is a democracy. Horatio Seymour once said, “The merit of our Constitution is not that it promotes Democracy, but checks it.”
