Warriors/Raiders get first taste of Hardwood Classic

Justin Chartrey

With the day moving over to the other two tournaments featured at the Spokane Arena, the Almira/Coulee-Hartline boys and Lake Roosevelt girls will try and make the state semifinals.

ACH opens play in the State 1B bracket with Mt. Rainier Lutheran, hoping to join the ACH girls in tomorrow’s semifinals. The two teams feature just one loss between them, making for a hotly contested quarterfinal. But that would be the norm for today’s action, as two of the 2B boys’ games were separated by a combined three points and a third went into overtime.

In the girls’ State 2B bracket, Lake Roosevelt will try and advance to the semifinals, playing the Adna Pirates. The LR boys fell earlier in 2B action today. An interesting thing to watch for is the closeness of this contest. All four 1B girls games were won by more than 30 points.

ACH 66, MRL 25 final

LAKE ROOSEVELT VS. ADNA

Both teams have traded buckets so far, with the game tied 14-14. LR’s Dominique Pleasants, who leads the team in scoring, has two early fouls but is still in the game.

Lake Roosevelt 16, Adna 14 through one quarter

Pleasants has six points, but also has two fouls and wil be on thin ice in the second quarter. Adna has six points apiece from Jordan Sandrini and Taylor Hoke.

Lake Roosevelt 28, Adna 19 halftime
