Practical lesson in rights

Don’t worry about Wisconsin’s schoolchildren. They are being taught to stand up to bullies.

They are learning that workers’ right to collective bargaining is a fundamental right.

Article 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights declares that everyone should have the right join a trade union. They are learning a moral lesson from the support of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, which reminds us that “these are not just political conflicts or economic choices; they are moral choices with enormous human dimensions.”
