Who pays the bill?
In response to Christie Bristow’s letter to the editor, “Bad bargain for labor,” Feb. 27, where she compares a bank mistreating a distraught homeowner to a business mistreating a union worker, I have two questions:
1. Should frugal citizens be taxed to bail out homeowners who extended themselves beyond their means with large house payments (or anyone with large credit card balances)?
2. Should any business be forced to operate at a loss (or government at a deficit) to continue unsustainable pay and benefit packages?
