Work rights have limits

In “Rally backs Wisconsin unions” on Feb. 26, Levi Hanson of the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association is quoted as saying, “We’re fighting for the middle class in this country. We’re fighting for our very survival.”

He went on to say, “Everyone should have benefits, living wages, a say when it comes to their workplace. It’s something every human has a right to.”

Dollars to doughnuts, he does not really mean that at all. What he really means is that the preceding applies to union members only! The simple fact that union leaders and most members fight tooth and nail against right-to-work legislation stands as proof positive that they do not believe that “every human has a right to” the benefits they claim for themselves.

Such incredible, selfish hypocrisy.
